St. Joseph School services students in Grades K-9, whose families live primarily in areas of northwest Calgary, such as Mount Pleasant, Winston Heights, Tuxedo, Highland Park, Balmoral, Briar Hill, Rosedale, Crescent Heights and Hounsfield Heights. However, we also provide a dual track Year Round program, that attracts students from the greater North West Calgary area.
The words of our mission statement clearly state the philosophy of St. Joseph School:
“Guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ and our Catholic faith, the core purpose of St. Joseph School is to educate the whole child – spiritually, morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetically – within a secure and supportive learning environment that encourages all individuals to recognize and achieve their unique potential.”
Parent participation is very much encouraged and necessary for our school community. We have parental involvement in the classroom, field trips, at-home activities, and our extra-curricular programs.
Religion, while taught as a subject, permeates all aspects of school life at St. Joseph. Students participate in liturgical celebrations and masses throughout the year.
Our school belongs to the district Catholic Community of Caring. We promote the values of trust, family, respect, responsibility, caring and faith. We are actively involved in service projects within our school community.
It is our hope that all parents and students find St. Joseph School an enriching learning environment. We invite our students to set high expectations for themselves, to be actively involved in their learning, and to actively participate in various school activities so that they can reach their full potential within our Catholic community.
